I was driving in to work and had a chance to take a cool picture out the passenger side window. One thing I will miss from Colorado is the Rocky Mountains and open fields. It has actually been really warm and nice lately. We have had 70 degree weather for the last three days, beating a bunch of records! And then, of course in true Colorado fashion, Friday and Saturday we may see snow.

Bottom’s Up!
A skier at Vail resort in Colorado was left hanging upside down and pantsless from a chairlift last week. Thought this was too funny.
They boarded the high-speed lift. The chairlift’s fold-down seat was not lowered, which caused the man to fall through the gap. His ski got jammed in the ascending chairlift, and that kept him supended because his boot never dislodged from its binding.
Busy Musical Weekend in Northern Colorado
It was a busy four day weekend. First we had our party on Wednesday evening, then we had to clean and recover on January 1st. Then that evening we went out salsa dancing at Suite 152 in Fort Collins. We got there early to go to the lessons, but they weren’t open so we went to Lucky Joes (I think that’s the name of the bar) and had appetizers and peanuts that we got to throw on the floors.

Salsa dancing at Suite 152
We got a merengue lesson that could be a Larry David moment, I swear. Eets so seemple! There was reggaeton, salsa, hip-hop, techno and merengue played there. We were some of the oldest people there since it was 18+ night. But it was fun. I love to dance, Britton, not so much. We are also planning to take salsa lessons here at the Greeley FunPlex starting tomorrow night to prepare for our trip to Puerto Rico.
Then, Friday night, Shana invited me to temple and then to Island Grill to watch a co-worker’s husband play in a band.

Happy New Year 2009 Planet Earth!
We rang in the New Year with friends and it was pretty fun. It started out later than we had planned and a lot of people canceled last minute for various reasons. It didn’t feel like much of a year to celebrate, but it was still fun and I am glad that we had a nice group of people to spend the first few hours before and after 2009 with. We played the game Catchphrase with everyone and that was fun, hung out, made Pina Coladas and other drinks, then we did the white elephant gift exchange and some of them were very funny and strange gifts. We ended up with a Kebob-It 1970-80’s infomercial cooking device. Other memorable items included a couple of ponchos, a 2007-2008 used planner, a lovely Snoopy belt thing, and much more! 🙂 Britton had an even more memorable night (or not), but that’s another story for another time.
Table of New Year 2009 Party Food
We made 7-Layer Bean Dip, Guacamole, a cheese and cracker tray, cookies and had a little olive bar.
