Pikes Peak Hill Climb (Colorado Event)

My friends and I have been going to this hill climb for a number of years. Here is a video from near the summit (Devils Playground). They just recently paved it as it used to be dirt all the way to the top. The race dates back to 1915 and is pretty spectacular to see. At the top there aren’t any trees, the air is too thin so it presents a challenge for cars that run on gas. There have been a few electric cars in the event too.

you may need quicktime to watch this, if you have quicktime the link should open in a browser window…If not there is always (right click save as).

I went to the race a few years ago and had a good time, I’ve not been back since its been paved.

Ween Tonight!

Oh and Daisy won.  We shall post pics tomorrow.

I wasn’t supposed to work today but I did.  I am attempting to gain some ground doing QA and taking on System Admin functions.  My ideal plan here is to show the company that I am valueable and useful.  That way when the day comes that I move to PR, I’d love to take my job with me and if not I’ve learned ALOT.

This is going to happen, I just have to try hard…which is what I am doing.  I think I put as much effort into my daily work as a construction worker does when he builds a road.  Mine is just mental, but man….I am tired at the end of the day.   I could just sit around and do nothing and still get paid, but I dont think that is fair to myself or the company.

So Ween is tonight which kicks off Cassie’s birthday weekend.  I have off till Friday.  One of the good things about having her birthday in the summer is it gives us an excuse to relax and enjoy the summer.

I’ve included a ween song on this post instead of any images.  Hope you enjoy.  Courtesy of ween.net.

The 4th of July

Yesterday was a great day. Started out with some vegetable sushi for lunch that Britton made (he’s getting really good) and ended with fireworks.

We took a bike ride to my parent’s house. They were married 30 years ago on the fourth of July so it was a special 4th.

Some of Celso’s family still lives in Puerto Rico and he wants to visit them (and us) when we move to PR

Video Games!! – a BK poast

Well it certainly is less expensive to drive this Corvette than the real thing.  I can even race against other people without fear of getting a ticket.  I played some games today with my friend who is living/going to school in CA.  Xbox live is great for that.

It’s a far cry from what video games looked like when I started playing them back in the days of Atari.

In fact games have gotten to the point where their realism is beginning to cause trouble.  In a racing simulation ok, realism is fine with everyone.  What about Grand Theft Auto?  I know if I had kids I wouldn’t let them play GTA until they were at least what..10?

Oh and Party at Matt’s house tonight!  We’ll be playing some Rockband (another video game).  We are going to party like rockstars!  It’s a sweet game because they did a good job of simulating what it feels like to be in an actual rockband.  You have these guitars, drums and a mic.  It’s cool and something that everyone can play.
