Party at Clifton’s Land

We went to my friend’s house for his house warming. He bought a house in the country with 5 acres. There are also large shops on the property so he can work on his cars. They have some horses and I think his grandparents used to farm the land. There is a total of maybe 70acres that his family owns; he bought just this 5 acre section with the house.

While we were out there we had a bon-fire. It’s nice to have the room to be able to do that without someone giving you any trouble. He lives pretty far away from anyone.

He wants to build a wind generator for his electricity needs and just acquired two 10hp 3 phase electric motors that will be converted into generators for this purpose. He still needs power inverters and some turbine blades. I think we will be doing something similar in Puerto Rico except that we plan on using the river current instead of wind current so his project will be interesting to see.

He did have lots of Hay so we grabbed some for our chickens to use.
Hay for the Chickens!

This all relates to PR at least in training. Chickens are going well and I can watch my friend build some wind turbines for generating electricity. We are looking forward to moving at some point and setting up the property to live sustainably. I need to call again this week to see if the department of natural resources has accepted the deed for the easement. I think that is all we are waiting on.

Jaminate the Countryside + PR Info

I talked to Carlos in PR today about the status of the title. He said that they are just waiting on the department of resources to accept some property. Apparently in the title registration process, there was a spot of the land that was needed by the government to gain access to the river. An easement. So they are just waiting on them to accept the deed for that area, I am not sure how big of an area it is. He is going to call the lender’s attorney and see if we can re-apply for the loan now.

Things might be moving forward at least a bit!

Also in prepration for moving (not actually but maybe?) I got a new guitar so I can play some music in PR. I need to learn how to play some salsa, or maybe folks in PR would be interested in hearing rock? But here is the new guitar.

It is a 90’s era American Stratocaster Plus. I traded two other guitars I had and a little cash for it. I’d rather have 1 guitar that I really like as opposed to 2 that I don’t really care for.

Since this is a blog post, its only fitting to have some extra multi-media to get the full effect. I went downstairs and used my little mp3 player which has a horrible mic on it to record a 3 chord riff. Since the riff is specifically for this blog. Its “blogjam”.

For best results right click and save as. There is some silence before the playing actually starts.

I need to learn how to play Salsa. But I am a bass player first and think that would be the best way to start out in a new genre. On bass.
