For those of you wondering what happened to your comments, sorry. We had a bunch of spam comments one day and so Britton went through and deleted them. Unfortunately he also deleted all our new comments as well. We were able to restore the blog to a recent back-up, but still lost some of them. So, sorry about that, and keep the comments coming on Life TransPlanet! 🙂

Another day at the Office (Solairs, PHP & MySQL)
Figured I’d write about my day.
I am working on creating a database with a web front end. This is to allow people that I work with to update the customer information database from a webpage. I have all this running on a Solaris OS which is made by SUN. Its a free operating system that comes will all kinds of cool things. And by cool I mean really hard to figure out.
I setup this blog on a Windows machine and it was easy. This….Isn’t. Its like tech geeks go out of their way to make things more complicated than they need to be. This is a wall. It has been put there to keep the people who dont really want it out. I think that is job security.
I really want to work remote from PR. I’ve been working on it, but for some reason employers don’t see the win-win opportunity.

Free OS? You mean….Not Windows or Mac?
Callie is not at the pound
Cassie checked at the Humane Society and did not see Callie (aka Caliper, Califur, Trashcat, Cal Ripken Jr, etc). So thats good. Sometimes she does disappear for a week or so at a time. She has multiple homes around here and I think that she gets let in to a house that has food and we don’t see her until she goes outside again. She is really a pretty smart kitty so I think she’ll be back.
Outage
Also we had an outage today. The power went out at the house mid-day and the computer wasn’t set to autostart. I’ve fixed it so it automatically comes back up going forward, but if you missed us..that’s why.

Picture Puerto Rico
I think pictures and imbedded media really make a difference in the quality of the blog, which is why I hope that this will work. Let’s find out. If it does, this is a picture of the place in Puerto Rico in December with a baby goat named Annie (her mama wouldn’t feed her so she was “Orphan Annie”). I am standing in front of one of the three cabanas.
