And New Baby Turkeys!

Today we found two baby turkey poults. They had been separated from their mom by the fence, so Britton went over and helped them over.

The mom seems very proud of these two little ones and they look as if they have just hatched. There are 4 other turkeys in the jungle, and probably more eggs on the nest that these came from, so we may soon be overrun by turkeys! Yay!

It is springtime here in the tropics. The birds and the bees are doing their thing. The next generation is in full swing.

Yippee, some more chicks, they are so cute! I really love the last picture with the turkey amidst all the beautiful flowers 🙂

This is not turkey baby related but are you planing on visiting CO at some point or are you sometimes missing Greeley?

The turkey babies are really cute. We just found another turkey mom with 6 poults, so we are now up to 8 baby turkeys and 6 baby chicks. Spring is definitely in the air.

Just me, we really have so much going on here in Puerto Rico that we rarely miss Greeley. It really feels that we are in the place we were meant to be. Everything we loved about Greeley/Colorado we get to do every day here instead of just on the weekends or summer in CO. Our favorite moments of life then were Saturdays in summer when we could play in the garden and grow food, go to concerts and events with friends, spend time in nature, raise animals, etc. Now that we are “retired” and the weather is always nice, we get to do that every day. Every day is a Saturday in summer! It really helps to live in the moment instead of wishing for the weekend or summer or whatever. We have met some incredible people here, but sometimes we do miss our good friends and family back in G-Town. There are some family issues that might draw one or both of us back for a visit, but otherwise, I think we would be perfectly content right here for a good long time.

Thank you Cassie, I just love how you two think and did what you did. I am a little bit in the same boat like you but my “Puerto Rico” is Weld County and I have been only back to my “first home” twice in 10 years…
