We’ve been looking for property in Puerto Rico again. It is kind of difficult for a few reasons. One reason being it is 3,000 miles away. The other is that the listings available are few and sometimes it is near impossible to get a hold of the realtor listing the property or if we do get a hold of someone they don’t follow up with more pictures.
Anyhow we are looking again and will make another trip once we see something of interest.
I went to PR last month and bought a house in a subdivision in Humacao. We need a comfortable house to live in while we build in Maunabo, which will take years due to the permitting process. We chose Humacao because we wanted to be close to Maunabo, marinas, beaches, shopping, and the major expressways. And only 45 freeway minutes to SJ. We hope to move in December (finally). Anyway, I chose a realtor to represent us and show us properties we had identified in advance, plus a few that we discovered while there. Under those terms, you can’t contact buyers or other realtors on your own, but that worked out really well since she made all appointments and even picked me up for viewings. It took 2 weeks, and I saw about 20 homes, but we got the deal done. I think.
Check out this property in San Sebastian:

We are going back December 11, so I hope you see something interesting soon, so we can meet. I wish you luck. But as you might already know…you have to be there to do the leg work… we don’t have anyone that can do that for us..Frank and I found that out soon. best wishes…it will come…
