Graduation From Leadership Weld County

Today was our last class with Leadership Weld County. The topic of the day was “Healthcare” and so I was fairly familiar with most of our health care system in Weld County. It was still nice hearing about all the programs and how they interface with each other. Then tonight we had our graduation ceremony. Before we left, I had Britton take a few pictures of me all dressed up in “Business Attire”. But…how could I take pictures in our backyard without a chicken? So here is where the city meets the country -lol.

Britton took this one holding it up in the air…Pretty good considering, plus we got Omelette in the background

The banquet and ceremony were nice. We reminisced about the various classes we had. From jumping off poles to seeing all the dead cows, visiting oil rigs and civic centers and many places in between, it was a very good experience and I would recommend LWC to anyone who is interested in becoming a leader in our community and/or learning more about what makes Weld County tick. If you are interested in joining next year’s group, I was elected to the Leadership Weld County Board, so contact me anytime for specifics!

It is for all adults -all ages. For kids they have Junior LWC. I am not as familiar with the kids’ one, but it sounds pretty good too.

Now you’re ready to run for office. City Council maybe? Why not? ๐Ÿ™‚

Did you know your great grand uncle was the mayor of Manchester, New Hampshire for many years and the richest man in town? He not to long ago died and left his mansion to the Catholic Church. ๐Ÿ™

No other politicians so far in my research of the family tree, but sounds like you could do that if you felt like it. Helps to be born where you run, at least in this state.

    Tia,
Was it the cream blazer or the chicken in my hand that made you think…hmm politician? ๐Ÿ˜‰
Interesting about the great uncle….it would be cool to see his old mansion.

    TNK,
The scholarship I got covered approx. half. The full amount was $525 I believe and so it was discounted down to $275. Most people’s work pays the amount. We just didn’t have the full amount in my work’s budget, so I was very thankful for the scholarship.
