Britton found his ring!

We were out in the yard today just watering the plants and taking the baby chicks out. Britton was watering the new daisies where we had been working when he lost his ring last week. He looked down and made a double take. It was there in all it’s shiny glory! He found the ring! I usually am the one to water the plants so it was cool that he happened to be doing it and looked down as I was walking around with him looking at the plants and flowers.

This video is of when he was out looking for it with the metal detector. I guess good ol’ eyesight, a little wind and rain work better. He said we have a lot of metal in the yard.

Also, we went out to dinner to Roma’s in west Greeley with our old roommate, Bob. It was fun catching up with him and his crazy stories.

Scenes of a Sunny Nature

The yard is becoming quite the wonder once again. I wish it could be spring, summer and fall all year round because our house and yard look awesome and produces some terrific food in the bright sunshine. The chickens would be happier too!  But if that were the case, we might not be planning our escape to Puerto Rico!

The chicks are getting bigger. I think they are still too small to live outside, but they might be able to here in about 3 weeks. We had to put the Schnoodle baby gate over the top of the box because they kept flying up on top of the box sides and pooping.

The big chicken continues to lay her eggs in the newly constructed chicken coop, but still wants to sleep in the greenhouse. One day we closed the greenhouse to see if she would go to sleep on her own in the new coop. When we checked on her, she was sitting right outside our back sliding door, so we just let her into the greenhouse once again.

Here’s a few pictures I took today. Beware, they contain scenes of a sunny nature:

Just Chillin at Home

It was  a nice weekend.  We didn’t do a whole lot in general but did get a few errands done.  I took the chicks out to the new pad and let them check it out.  I think they like the curtains.  They aren’t old enough to live outside on their own.  But maybe in a few more weeks.  The cat still looks at them like food; he doesn’t look at the older chicken like that.

We also rode our bikes a little bit this weekend and took a walk in the rain with umbrellas. We rode our bikes to get hair cuts for both of us. Here’s a picture of Cassie with her new ‘do:

Still haven’t found the ring yet, but having fun looking with the metal detector that was loaned to me.
