I heard this song and thought of Puerto Rico. It really feels like Puerto Rico to me. I love the summer-like weather we’ve been having. Gardening, listening to music, wearing warm-weather clothes and flip-flops, drinking sun tea with fresh mint from the garden, eating salads that are 10 minutes old.
For about 4 months a year in Colorado it feels tropical here too, and I love it. My swing is tropical, too!
Just got back from SOCAL. Listened to a radio station Cassie would love — “La Estrella — ciento siete uno (107.1) which has the latest in latin (spanish), english and spanglish rock, AND banter. One morning two guys and a chica discussed the latest Cosmopolitan article about how novias can find out whether their novios are cheating, all in a mix of Spanish and English humour. I rented a Nissan Rogue so that we would have two cars, and enjoyed this station while tooling to the beach, shopping, yoga, etc, with Ginger in the back.
SB is recovering from three fires in one year, and is a bit traumatized. Prices on housing are falling, which is good for us. Grandkids are cuter than ever, and Tanner is talking like crazy. I think Dave and Stef are more excited about him now using the bathroom, though.
It was raining when we drove in yesterday, mountains are cool and calm after driving across the desert and through nutty Las Vegas. We had to cruise around the airport and get ready for our Chicago trip in June. I’ll be a presenter at the League of American Symphonies and Orchestra. “Africa” has created a stir.
Annie,
They used to have Super Estrella here. I think it was syndicated from a Los Angeles station, so it could have been the same thing. I loved that channel! I was so bummed when they changed formats. Now I don’t keep up as well on the latest pop and rock en espanol 🙂
Sounds like you are having a good start to your summer despite the bad news in SB. Have you started the hunt for a new house there yet?
Congrats on being a presenter. That sounds pretty cool.
Maybe we’ll be able to see you this summer? Tell Larry hi.
Hi Cassie,
We’ve been looking in SB for a few years. We think the prices will come down, and are in no hurry. We’re slowly going to sell the rentals here to come up with the cash.
Would love to see you anytime. If you’d like we could go to Lake Powell (about two hours from here) and spend a few days on the boat, could boat over to Rainbow Bridge (bring the your bikini, it is HOT there!).
If you are up for a long drive, we will have the boat in the SB Harbor in mid-August for two weeks, you are welcome to spend time with us there also. SB has lots of great bands, you both would enjoy the area. AND they have La Estrella!
