Greeley was featured in the latest Rolling Stone magazine. It is not very flattering, but unfortunately very true. We are mainly known (outside of Greeley) for the awful smell of the cow feedlots and slaughterhouses and the immigrant raid on those who work there. While this is home to us (we were both born here), it will be nice to move to Puerto Rico and see a different way of life.
The overall article however is about change and the likely possibility of Colorado going from a red state to a blue state and what that would mean in terms of our congressional representatives. It also lays it out in terms of changing from brewing racism to tolerance.
Here is the link and an excerpt:
In Greeley, as in most of America, those two groups (parties) are defined by their racial attitudes — fault lines that these days are most visible in the battle over immigration. Immigrants comprise the bulk of the workforce at the local meat-processing plant owned by Swift and Co. The plant, which contributes to the town’s heavy cape of death-shit smell, was raided in December 2006 by agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, who arrested 265 workers and drove a deep wedge into the local political scene.”
Typical political BS. This guy is a hard core democrat who is calling republicans stupid and racist. It’s the typical crap that goes on between political parties. Individuals then buy into the big load of “smelly cow shit ” and pit against each other. The rats and cans are playing the American public like a puppet.
Vote for Obama.. Change. Right, the only thing that will change is we will have a “new” set of corrupt politcal asses in control. Feed the government monster.
Vote for McCain..Country First. Right, then we feed the corporate monsters instead of the government monster.
We have some really expensive marketing ploys to get the general public to vote either way. How about all the other canidates? We have a ton on the ballot but I haven’t heard a peep from one of them. Oh.. that’s right.. if I vote for anyone but a republican or democrat im wasting my vote. Maybe the biggest waste is voting for a republican or democrat.
When Americans finally pull their heads out of their rumps and see that Republicans and Democrats ARE THE PROBLEM, then maybe we can see some REAL change. Until then, we will see these “claims” from both sides claiming they have the answer and the other side is to blame.
Gag.
Corporations are Government.
I’d be content with just living off the land and being left alone.
So as a consumer the only way to “control” a corporation is to boycott their product or service.
Hi — I tried to send this link to your bckauffman@comcast.com address but it came back undeliverable. So I’ll try again. It ties with this article on Musgrave, but and adds Bush’s visit and a bit more spice with Rev. Haggard and his gay prostitue.
