Hairstyle Poll

So Britton shaved off his beard last weekend and a lot of people were just shocked! It took me a while to get used to it as well. I don’t think Britton even got used to it, so now he has about 4 days worth of 4 oclock shadow. I keep telling him to give it a little longer and he’ll get used to it. But he doesn’t always listen to me. Will he listen to you? Let’s see with this poll.

I have also been giving some consideration to changing my hairstyle. Should I cut it? It is getting really long again and people are commenting about how long it is. I decided I wanted to see what I would look like with bangs, so I pulled my hair into a pony tail and flipped it forward to form bangs (yes, it is that long). What do you think? Oh, and here’s an extra picture of when I didn’t curl the ends of my “bangs”. It looks like I’m an 80’s rock star:

    Hi,
Just picked up your recent posts. I think Cassie looks great with her long hair and bangs, light highlights; Britton looks good either way, but since he is a musician and young enough to pull it off (no grey in the beard), I prefer the beard. It’s sexy, too.
As for the other posts, the blue mustang is dreadful (whose idea was that, anyway?) and I agree the PR land deal was dubious. I’ll bet if you find a qualified real estate agent, and make it clear that you want to see proof of ownership before deciding on a property, you will find that these are available, even in PR.

As for the arrow of light, hey Britton, have you tried “Magic Arrow” beer from New Belgium? It’s our new fave.

Speaking of parties, we are having a St. Pat’s party next Saturday for our ski club. We are skiing on the mountain that day, and then the gang’s coming over for Irish beer, corn beef cabbage etc, and all thing’s Irish. Larry and I met 25 years ago on St. Pat’s Day (March 17) so this is partially the reason for the party, along with Larry being Irish (real family name is O’ linleigh) plus the fact that we felt like it and the snow’s good so what the heck?
We’ll be drinking Harp beer, for Britton’s information, along with Jamieson Whiskey for hard core drinkers. We have a national senior Olympic Nordic skier in our club, from Alaska. He is a great skier, as are several others. We are lazy to medium but enjoy being out there. You guys are of course invited, but I know that it is a LONG way here.

We got back from SB yesterday. It was beautiful out there, but a little chilly. On our beach walks, a young whale was frolicking in the harbor, it was cool. We are checking out prices, and they are coming down pretty fast, but have a ways to go before we get too excited. We have our 5 rentals rented now, so we are sitting tight and waiting for the economy to straighten out (?) before we do anything too drastic. We saw our kids and grandkids and that is a constant tug on us, but we manage to see them regularly. Kendall is already 6 months old and brilliant, while Tanner at 3 is a busy little guy. Papa Larry likes to do the light wand battle thing (from Star Wars) from him, while I like to play with K.

So thanks for the blog updates, and have a fun week.

    Hey Annie,
Great to hear from you. Sounds like you are busy. You should start a blog too! Thanks for the invite, we’d love to but since we just got back, it might be a while before we can take more time off. Maybe this summer/early fall? When Damon came to visit we saw a lot of his pictures of Santa Barbara and I can see why you miss it. Do you think you could keep your rentals going from afar? Hire an agency or something to look after the day-to-day operations? That’s what we are considering for our properties here.

    Hey Cassie and Britton,
We’d love to see you anytime. Summer is fun because of Lake Powell and our boat (we also spend two weeks on the boat in August in Santa Barbara) and winter is fun because of the skiing/snowboarding scene here.
As far as our diaspora to SB, we plan to slowly sell off our rentals, reinvest in one rental in SB (the income there will be about the same as 5 rentals here) and buy a home or condo for us. It will take time, and with the crazy economy, we are in no hurry. We were closing on the Victorian last September when everything crashed and the buyer and bank freaked out. So they are all rented and we are just enjoying beautiful southern utah. It has more poignancy doing the fun things we do here, knowing we won’t be here forever. It also doesn’t bother me so much when the local politics are totally weird and bigoted.

As for the rentals, it’s hard to have someone manage for you, but it can be done; this is what Larry did for years for others in SB. We are into a simple life, so once we’ve moved back, we are going to focus on our family and friends in socal, rather than traveling back and forth to utah(which we have done for years). Once Larry’s parents died (we saw them a lot in Las Vegas), we have been planning on transitioning “home.”

By the way, how did the hair poll pan out!

I say do what you want. Go with the flow and cut it off if you want to if not don’t, cause you know what its all going to grow back anyway.

I like your hair best short with the curled bangs, looks way cute! I recently cust my hair a little above my shoulders and it was getting pretty long, about halfway down my back. I gotta tell ya, it has been hard to get used to and I am still getting used to how to style it. Change is always fun though and at the end of the day it’s just hair, it will grow back!
